The most common situation I run into is not the absence of a website. It is a website that exists, still runs, and that nobody looks after any more: the contractor vanished, the agency bills a monthly fee for nothing, or the credentials are scattered across three accounts you never open. You do not want a new site. You want that one to be looked after.
It takes me half a day in the vast majority of cases, and it is the only real obstacle between where you are now and a site that is looked after. Billing you €300 for a technical move you will see nothing of would be the surest way to keep you where you are. I would rather have one more client over twelve months. You only start paying once the site runs on my side.

Your site leaves its current hosting and lands on mine. The domain is transferred into my registrar under your name, or stays where it is if you prefer, with its records pointed at me. From then on I am responsible for uptime, backups, the certificate and security updates. The site does not change appearance unless you ask for it.
Often yes, but not always as-is. An up-to-date WordPress with a maintained theme and a handful of common plugins moves over without trouble. A WordPress stuck on an old version with thirty plugins, half of them abandoned, can no longer be secured: taking it as-is would be selling you a guarantee I cannot honour. The free diagnosis settles which of the two you have, before any commitment.

That covers hosting, the domain name, the certificate, backups, security updates and 30 minutes of edits per month. If the site needs a rebuild to be maintainable, setup is €390 and the monthly fee is the same, up to seven pages, the same limit as my showcase site. Beyond that it is no longer a takeover but a build, and it gets quoted as one. Any work beyond the monthly 30 minutes is billed at €70/hour, in minimum half-day units, quoted before it starts.

We look at your contract together. In most cases the commitment is a monthly fee cancellable with one to three months' notice: we prepare the migration during the notice period and the switch lands the day your contract ends, with no double billing. If the provider is holding your domain or refusing to hand over credentials, there is a recovery procedure and I handle it.
